Sewing Blogs of Interest

Hola from Costa Rico! I have been on a “birding” tour in Costa Rico, and, believe it or not, did not bring my sewing machine. I did, though, bring my computer — there’s only so much “off the grid” I can take. So I thought I’d provide some links to a few other sewing blogs. These great blogs offer free patterns, projects and advice to keep you busy while I’m gone.

By the way, those pictures at the top of the blog are not sewing projects. It’s the Broad-billed Motmot (l) and the Resplendent Quetzal (r). It sure was worth the trip to see them and so many other colorful birds!

Sew Mama Sew has a ton of tutorials, free patterns, and they’re categorized by topics such as quilts, bags, clothes, etc. There is also a “learn” section with splendid tutorials and advice. This website also encourages contributions from others.

When browsing through the website, I found this quilt project. It has complete instructions on a great way to use up some scraps and create a beautiful quilt.
