September Sew Fun

We had some really great Sew Fun projects demonstrated last month. To see the projects made and shown by Tracey, and the beautiful creations shown by our customers in “show and tell”, check out our Facebook photos. Now, another month has come and gone, Fall is in the air, and we are ready for September Sew Fun.

As usual, our Sew Fun presenter is ready with a variety of interesting projects this month. I’ve included descriptions of a couple of the projects on tap to show, but, as always, our presenter has several more projects to share with you at the store.

Santa Fe Bracelets by OESD

Designed to mimic the unique beauty and craftsmanship found in Native-American beaded jewelry, these embroidered bracelets are made entirely in the hoop. You can easily adapt the colorful patterns to your favorite color schemes. The collection includes detailed step-by-step instructions as well as several creative options for finishing the bracelets.

Stitch these bracelets in your favorite color schemes to coordinate with any outfit. Sometimes you only need one or two colors changed to create a whole new look.  The digitized patterns are designed to stitch each color  in a specific pattern or area of the bracelet. Here’s a look at some of the different color patterns you can stitch.

For bracelets, you can connect the ends in a variety of creative ways. The closures are simple, using small rings and lobster clasps, leather strips tied in a knot, or small leather-type cord attached to small rings and lobster clasps.

Get creative!

You can even finish these into bookmarks! Simply add ribbons at either end or ribbon at one end and a tassel at the other.

These Santa Fe bracelets/bookmarks are so quick and easy to make, you’ll find yourself making dozens of these to give as Christmas gifts.

Primitive Gatherings Perseverance Table Runners

These table runners from Primitive Gatherings Perseverance are so fun to make. The pattern includes an acrylic template for making the trapezoid shapes, and the same background layout is used for any of the three applique patterns included. Great gift for the active duty or veteran in your life. Imagine one of these Americana flags as a wall quilt or table runner. The patterns call for one charm pack or 40 five inch squares of red, white and blue fabrics.
