I just wanted to tell you that I may be the #1 fan of the Dream Machine 2. I have had my machine for about 8 months now and just continue to find more and more features that I love. Whenever I talk to someone who is considering buying a new embroidery machine, I always tell them that this is the machine to buy! It was exciting to see so many people “test drive” the machine at the Sew Expo and hear all that they liked about it.
I started doing machine embroidery many years ago with a small, 4×4″ hoop machine. The Dream Machine 2 is my 6th machine as the hoops have gotten larger, and the features just that more special. I still have my Quattro and Pfaff Creative 4.0 embroidery machines which are wonderful machines, but even they cannot compare to the DM2.
I don’t even know how to describe the many things I love. I import many designs from a flash drive, and love that the designs display the file names, so now I can tell the “blue flower medium” from the “blue flower small” without opening the design – such a small thing, but makes life that much easier.
The machine is very quiet as it embroiders, and the added stability of the machine holds the embroidery head that much more secure and the designs appear to stitch out just that little bit more precise. The enhanced lighting, the larger machine throat, and the many on-screen videos again just make this machine that much better than the ones which came before.
I do many quilt blocks, and as silly as it sounds, hate to draw the little pencil line across the blocks to do half square triangles. Using the sensory pen and guideline position marker feature on the DM2 allows me to set the laser light to “draw” from corner to corner, so that all I have to do is position my blocks and sew with the 1/4″ foot, without stopping to draw lines on each block.
Using the built in applique feature is allowing me to turn any design, particularly the many built in Disney designs, into such cute little toys.
I could go on and on, so many things I love, but fabric is in the hoop, and time to hit the “Start” button again on my favorite, new toy!
Keep bringing us these wonderful machines!
