We just wrapped up our Embellish Warm and Cozy event with Hope Yoder and, now, we are ready to host Taylor with Anita Goodesign for the two-day Anita’s University 501. But we also have other October events on tap.
Dolls and Daydreams Halloween Stuffies
First of our October events is a great class with Malory and Lisa of Sew Fun fame. Make a Mummy, Bat, Ghost and Spider on a top-of-the-line embroidery machine at our Event Center in the class Dolls and Day Dreams and Halloween Stuffies.
This is a one or two day event, depending on your preference. Come on Friday, October 4 and make the mummy and spider. Or come on Saturday, October 5th and make the ghost and bat. The one day class is $99.
If you “want it all”, then come both days and make all 4 stuffies for $149.
At the end of each day, you will take home two stuffies and a cd with embroidery files and instructions to make these stuffies as well as two bonus stuffies (a werewolf and a cat in a pumpkin).
Kits, machines to use, and lunch will all be provided. Doors open at 9:30 and the class is from 10 am to 5 pm each day.
Anita’s University 501
Anita Goodesign is thinking inside the hoop with the newest class in their university line up, 501: In the Hoop!
Learn all about their innovative in the hoop techniques. As the name suggests, you make all of the projects in your hoop and create unique, fun and useful projects.
Learn a lot of different techniques for in the hoop projects like personalized tags, beautiful sun catchers and lace jewelry bowls. See how to make handy luggage tags, cardholders, key chain bags…and sew much more!
As always with Anita Goodesign events, you’ll take home a 3-ring binder filled with tons of information, detailed tutorials and our exclusive tips & tricks. All of this education is supported by beautiful designs on your USB stick, so you can create these projects anytime you like!

We’re anticipating a big crowd, so we’re offering the two day event twice. Sign up for the Thursday – Friday event (October 10 and 11) OR the Saturday-Sunday event (October 12 and 13).
The event costs $99, and you’ll receive:

We Whisk You a Merry Christmas
We are having so much fun with our Kimberbell classes, and this month we’re offering a one day class, We Whisk You a Merry Christmas, on Sunday, October 13 at our Colorado Springs store.
Join us for a Sunday full of sewing fun. Make an apron as well as two adorable tea towels. Use these as festive additions to your kitchen, or give them as as great gifts during the holiday season.
Purchase your Kimberbell book with the designs in advance at a Rocky Mountain Sewing and Vacuum store. Then, bring your book and your embroidery machine with at least a 6 x 10 hoop. Complete project kits and an apron will be provided.
We’re not providing lunch, so bring your own, or plan to go out at the lunch break. Since this is a baking-themed day, we will also have a cookie exchange the day of the class. So, bring a sweet treat as well as the recipe to share if you like!
The cost for the class is $60, and we’ll sew from 10:30 am until 5:00 pm.
Sew Fun
Join us for our monthly Sew Fun sessions in October for some great ideas for Christmas. Whether it’s a Christmas quilt or wall hanging for your home or a cute cosmetic tote to give as a gift, we have some beautiful projects to inspire you to get ready for the holidays.

Kimberbell Spooky Soiree
Park your broom at the door for a Kimberbell one day event! Our October events continue with each of our stores hosting a soiree. No tricks here, just treats! Learn new and creative techniques, including freestanding lace, an orange pull flower, crazy patch quilting and more!
Bring your own embroidery machine, and we’ll provide the fabric kits, materials and instructions needed for four exclusive event projects. Lunch is on us!

- Embroidery machine with a 6 x 10 hoop size or larger
- 4 x 4 hoop
- 5 x 7 hoop
- 6 x 10 hoop (or larger)
- Grey embroidery thread
- Wound bobbin with matching grey thread
