Christmas holidays will be here before we know it. Designer/blogger Amanda Murphy takes Christmas in a bright new direction that updates the traditional reds and greens with blues, pinks, and whites. She offers 18 ideas for a handmade Christmas, whether that’s a quilt or home decor item.

This book has  lots of fun ideas, including her Christmas Gifts quilts featuring three dimensions with bows made from buttons or yo-yos.   Dress up your home in something fresh for the holidays!  Festive projects include 9 quilts and 9 home decorations. Fashion a wreath out of Dresden Plate blocks. Create a Holiday forest quilt with triangular trees and snowflakes. Count down to Christmas with an Advent calendar.

• Create modern looks with favorite blocks like Flying Geese, Dresden Plate, and Hexagon
• Use all your skills: piecing, appliqué, and hand embellishment
• Make many of the quilts for any season with a simple change of fabrics

 Fast and Furious

Who doesn’t like to get a project done quickly from start to finish? Whether it is putting together a quick gift or something fresh to decorate your table for a party the next day. All of the projects in this book have quick construction in common. They are all done with a “Quilt as you go” method which speeds up the process of making quilts and is very simple. While you’re stitching, you’re quilting, so these projects come together quickly

You will find great variety of smaller projects in this book. This book has 16 projects geared for your home that are all done with the quilt as you go method. Among the projects are table runners, placemats, table toppers, wall quilts, a bed runner, pillow cases and crib quilts. All of the projects are very beginner friendly.
