What’s the Buzz: November Happenings at RMSV

Harvey, Morty and Morticia leaving RMSV in a red carI hope everyone had a fun Halloween. We were sad to say goodbye to Harvey, Morty and Morticia, and look forward to their visit next year.  But it’s November now, and the holidays are fast approaching. I don’t know about you, but it always seems to me that once Halloween is here, Christmas comes in a blink! Before we get there, though, there’s a lot happening at Rocky Mountain Sewing and Vacuum this month. So here’s a look at our November events.

Thank You

Shop with a Cop graphic from Aurora police assn. facebook pageBut first, we want to thank our customers who purchased machines and notions during our “Shop with a Cop” promotion. It certainly was upsetting seeing all that glass and the broken window at our Aurora store the first morning of the Anita Goodesign event, but, with your help, we were able to make that into a “good thing”. After finding out  from the Aurora Police about their Shop with a Cop program, we donated some of our profits from sales during the Anita Goodesign event and after from all stores to the program. We’re proud to say that we were able to give $3454 to the Aurora Police Association fund for the program. That will help make a lot of kids happy on Christmas!

Embellish Hands On Quilting and Embroidery

We are both excited and disappointed about this event. Disappointed because we were hoping for this to be our inaugural event at the new event center. Unfortunately, the remodel won’t be completed on time for this event. No worries, though, the event will be held at our beautiful, roomy Aurora store. In it

See the new line of specialty materials from RNK that we’ll use in the class at their website.

Feeding Families

This year Rocky Mountain Sewing and Vacuum is teaming up with the Denver Rescue Mission and Colorado Springs Rescue Mission volunteers to feed families during Christmas. This is the third year we have done this and we feel privileged to be a part of making a difference! We would like to invite you to join in. Here’s how your purchases will help:

In each store all sewing machines, sergers, cabinets, vacuums will have this sticker,

Feeding families machine sticker

which will indicate how many families your purchases will feed. We will be completing the Feed a Family Campaign Monday, December 9th, and
we will let everyone know how many families were fed in our next newsletter and on our social media sites.

The Luminaire Experience

We wrap up November events with a special guest from Brother. On November 30 or December 1,  join Brother Educator, Louis Carney at our Aurora Store and learn about the sewing industry’s newest machine that will help you sew and embroider in luxury and with precision. Louis’ familiarity with machines, products and industry knowledge ensures a fun and informative time to be had by all who attend.

He will present the Brother Luminaire’s stunning sewing, embroidery and My Design Center capabilities, followed by a walk through of inspirational samples created on this amazing machine. He will show you many of the amazing features on the Brother XP1 Luminaire, and answer any questions you may have on the machine.

There will be a half hour meet and greet with refreshments before the presentation starts. You will receive a $10 Rocky Mountain Sewing and Vacuum gift card at the end of class for attending.

Don’t miss out on the Luminaire Experience!
