Two May special events are coming to our Rocky Mountain Sewing and Vacuum stores.   We continue to bring you the best in sewing and embroidery instructions with a visit from Melanie Coakley Starting Your Own Embroidery Business,  and another BERNINA event,  Fear No Fabric.

Start Your Own Embroidery Business

Are you looking for a fun opportunity to own your own business without a huge monetary outlay or the purchase of a franchise? Want a creative business with endless opportunities and great flexibility? Then an embroidery business may be just for you!

Learn what it takes to start and run an embroidery business. Attend one of our 4 upcoming embroidery business classes. Our expert instructor, Melanie Coakley, is offering full day courses May 2 , in Arvada,  May 3 in Aurora,  May 4 in Littleton and May 5 in Colorado Springs.  Each session starts at 10-:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. Cost for the session is just $29.00 (including lunch).

 The Course

In the course, you’ll learn about perfect technique and the sewing machines you’ll need to accomplish your work easily. She’ll show you how to work on different mediums, including knits and caps. Find out how to find customers, and do your work profitably.

During class create and complete three embroidered projects. Learn what it takes to easily start a successful embroidery business, the resources necessary, and where to find your customers. Learn to work with the most common items and fabrics used in a professional embroidery business, all while learning how to maximize profit. From knits to caps, creating logos to personalization, you will learn how to successfully fulfill the needs of your customers that will keep them coming back for more!

Rocky Mountain Sewing only does these events annually, so you must register soon if you want to start your business with the best knowledge this year. Again, you’ll want to hurry. These events will fill up!

BERNINA Academy

Fear No Fabric!

Red and black graphic of Bernina Fear No Fabric course one of May special eventsLearn how to successfully sew challenging fabrics such as leather, fur, chiffon, cork, knit and more during this BERNINA Academy event.  Learn seam and hem finishes to “sew like a pro” on various fabrics.  Discover ways to make sewing easier by using proper feet, stitches and features of BERNINA machines for precise sewing.
This two-day event will give you the opportunity for a hands-on experience with BERNINA’s newest machines while exposing you to a wide variety of fabrics.  At the end of the academy, you will have made a Technique Book to use as a reference guide. Every time you walk into your sewing studio and turn on your machine you’ll have a handy reference guide. You will also receive a USB stick with additional information on fabrics, needles, projects, designs, and instructions to inspire you.

There are no course requirements. Whether you are a seasoned pro, or you’ve never touched a sewing machine, you can attend this event.  You will walk away with tips and techniques to improve your sewing skills or inspire you to learn and sew more.

Years of experience are passed on in a lively informative way. Shelly has a love and understanding of the topics and the BERNINA machines, software, feet and accessories that accomplish each task.  She shows how easy it is to kick it up a notch or two by using any BERNINA product to its full potential. She makes it fun and leaves everyone excited about his or her new tools and skills. Shelly is bringing the out-of-ordinary to front and center, and leaving everyone excited about new tools and skills.

Cost of the two-day class is $119 and lunch will be provided. You can register by clicking on the dates below when you would like to attend. Sessions are from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. each day.
