Three days of sewing fun await you March 5-7 at our Event Center. Are you a Flamigo fan or a Llama lover? Well, take your pick.

Combine traditional embroidery with embellishments and fabric collages, add mylar, chenille, foils, to create an adorable wall hanging. Kim from RNK will be there to help us through it.

As with all of our March special events, we provide the kits, machines, advice, lunch, and, of course, plenty of chocolate and snacks. Cost for the three day event is $199.99, so register here. Hurry, though, space is limited.

Kimberbell, Oh, Happy Day

If happiness means having a full bobbin, celebrate it at this event! Turn ordinary afternoons into a celebration with six exclusive event projects you can make in just two days. Create a quilted cupcake pillow, an adorable gratitude journal cover, a zipper pouch that would make anyone jump for joy, and a few more projects to make you feel giddy. Improve your embroidery skills, learn new techniques and be ready to be overjoyed!

We’re so excited to add this to our slate of March events. We’ll have machines and kits ready for you to use, so join us at the Event Center. Cost for the two days is $149. Register here.

Hands On Quilting with HandiQuilter

We wrap up March events and dive into April with Handi Quilter classes at our Aurora store.

Curious about solving the mystery of Longarm quilting? Or are you looking for a chance to brush up your longarm skills? This two-day class demystifies longarm quilting by teaching all the basics!

We’ll start with machine and frame features and maintenance, then demonstrate loading a quilt. We’ll move on to picking the perfect thread for your project, setting your tension, and choosing designs for your quilt.

Looking for the perfect circle or wave? Or how about a heart or arc? These shapes are all possible with consistency and precision when you use a ruler or template. Learn the safe way to use these tools, starting with the right foot. We’ll explore designs like waves with channels, curved crosshatching, and echoing around applique. Rulers will become your new favorite quilting design tool.

Tired of doing edge to edge? Have you ever wanted to layout a design for your whole quilt? It’s easy to plan with a few simple steps. We’ll start with exploring how to find one motif then breaking it down into pieces for every area of your quilt. Select and customize designs to complement each area, and learn how to accomplish the quilting quickly and easily. Classic fillers and modern designs will all be explored.

This March event is full of great tips and tricks while exhibiting all the great features found in the HandiQuilter machine lineup. So if you have a long arm quilting machine or are thinking of owning one, this is the class for you.

Join us March 31 and April 1, and we promise, no April Fool’s jokes — just fun and lots of “learning”. Cost for the event is $149. Register here.

This event is also being held April 2 &3 at the Aurora store. Click here if you’d rather attend on those dates.

Quilt, Craft and Sewing Festival

Once again, Rocky Mountain Sewing and Vacuum will be a big presence at Rusty Barn’s Quilt, Craft and Sewing Festival at the Denver Mart. We don’t put on this expo, but we’re a big part of it. If you’ve been before, then you know that we make great deals on sewing, embroidery and quilting machines as well as vacuums, sewing furniture and lighting.

So don’t miss the opportunity to attend this March event! You can download a coupon for $1.00 admission here. Admission is good for all three days of the Festival.
