Month-by-month, piece a spectacular sampler quilt featuring iconic savanna animals including an elephant, lion, rhino, gazelle, wildebeest, hippo, giraffe, and zebra.

All blocks are sewn using conventional patchwork techniques. One piece (the rhino’s horn) uses a cutting guide a shortcut method to make this shape without the bother of paper piecing or matching points. The pattern book includes complete instructions for making a 64″ x 84″ sampler quilt, plus bonus quilt and pillow projects using the individual blocks.

Get the pattern, buy some fabric and join us at our Aurora store on January 9 to begin the project. Cost for the first session is $20.

Kimberbell: Do You Want to Stitch a Snowman?, Colorado Springs

In a floppy hat with embroidered pom poms, this stitched snowman just might pass for a ski bunny, plus he is guaranteed not to melt under your steaming cup.

Mug rugs make a perfect gift paired with hot cocoa mix or coffee cup.  Or embroider a set so the whole family has one to use after a day of snow play.

So, join Jordan at our Colorado Springs store on January 10 from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Cost of the class is $30 and includes fabric kit and thread. Bring your embroidery machine and at least a 5×7 hoop.
