A Blog About Blogs

by Cathy Ellsaesser, posted on

A sewing blog should inspire you to try new things and bring your creative potential to the forefront. So, do you take advantage of the blogs and free patterns, sewing instructions, etc. that the manufacturer of your home sewing and/or embroidery machine(s) posts? I have to admit, I don’t do that that as much as I should. I really need to do better, because there are so many wonderful ideas and how-to instructions, out there from machine manufacturers.

So, I thought for this blog, I’d provide some information and links to the online blogs and resources available from BERNINA, Brother, Janome, and PFAFF.

Bernina — Made to Create

BERNINA has a couple of web pages for Bernina owners. Check out Learn & Create on their home page.

Get inspired and get instructions with such projects as a Reversible Bomber Jacket or how about some free embroidery downloads?

WeAllSew Blog

BERNINA USA’s blog, WeAllSew, offers fun project ideas, patterns, video tutorials and sewing tips for sewers and crafters of all ages and skill levels.

With project categories of quilt-alongs, sew-along, overlocker/serger and embroider-alongs, the WeAllSew blog has something for every Bernina owner.

Brother — At Your Side

Under the heading of Inspiration & Events on Brother-USA home page, find inspiration, learn how to use Brother products, and meet fellow crafters by exploring their collection of articles, projects, events, and more.

In addition, Brother has a couple of blogs

Of course, they also show you the latest in Brother hardware and accessories. We are confident there is something for everyone on Stitching Sewcial, so get inspired and let your creativity go!

The blogs are tagged by category, such as sewing, embroidery, or quilting and also by theme.

Brother Crafts Blog

Got a ScanN Cut? Then the Brother Crafts blog might be just for you. Whether your passion is paper crafting, mix-media artwork, or stylish home décor, the celebrated Brother Crafts Specialists are ready to show you the latest craft tips & tricks, fun family projects, and more. Want to learn more about using vinyl? There’s a blog for that. Need to know the latest about ScanNCut DX machines and accessories? There’s a blog for that too! Come for the projects and leave with inspiration at Brother Crafts.

Just like the Stitching Sewcial blog, the Brother Crafts blog allows you to search for projects based on category and theme.

Janome — Reliability By Design

Janome has a couple of web sites that offer free projects and ideas.

Under the heading of Inspire, Janome offers exciting projects and embroidery designs to make with your Janome machine.
